Selection Criteria
The focus of the SPEDCO Economic Development Foundation is to promote economic development throughout SPEDCO’s entire service territory, which is presently the state of Minnesota and nine counties in western Wisconsin.
| Grants will be made only to non-profits which are registered as 501(c)(3) organizations. Grants will not be made to for-profit companies or to individuals. |
| Organizations requesting funding must specifically demonstrate a commitment to economic development. |
| Special preference will be given to organizations that demonstrate a commitment to the creation of jobs. |
| Whenever possible grants will be made to nonprofit organizations for projects that are both specific and measurable, as opposed to funding requests for general operations, buildings or investments. |
| Members of the Grants Committee will perform site visits to the proposed donor organizations before any funds are disbursed. |
